One thing I truly lament about Ottawa is all the one way streets. This city is to one not quite familiar, a labyrinth of wide spread proportion. When people ask me how to get to certain places in Ottawa I always joke that there’s only one way to get there anyways such is the intensity of the one wayedness we subscribe to here. Before I started driving in this city it wasn’t something I really payed attention to. It wasn’t required, I was either walking or biking and for that sort of activity I couldn’t care which way the street was “supposed” to go. I’m sure now with driving around this city of ours I’ve wasted untold tanks of gas driving certain routes just to get where I’m going. The whole theory of “the quickest route is a straight line” sure doesn’t apply here. I have to drive an extra block every time I come home cause of damn one way streets. I know one way streets in theory are supposed to limit traffic on residential streets and so on, but when all the other streets around them are one ways also it kinda defeats the purpose. Way to go city planners, now send me my gas rebate at the end of the year for your idiocy!

I have to agree, a few one way streets are helpful, but it is when they are abused that they become more of a hinder than a help.
Hey, what about a post about Firefox 2.0 vs. Explorer. I’m sure you have some words of wisdom regarding this issue?
Funny that you should mention Firefox 2.0 as I just installed it a few days ago. I do have words of wisdom for sure “USE FIREFOX”, perhaps I can elaborate on that more later. Firefox 2.0 is really great though, I’m enjoying it.
