Consumer entitlement drives me crazy because it’s not founded in reason. Let me be more clear, consumer SENSE of entitlement is not founded in reason. If you go through life making assumptions and ‘assuming’ that things should be a certain way then your entire life will be a disappointment. If you purchase a computer but don’t read the warranty you’re just an IDIOT. Don’t complain and whine that “oh, well you should be helping me with this”. Yeah right, go read your warranty and please point out the section that states I should help you set up your email account, fix Yahoo messenger or perform some other odd task that falls nowhere near fixing or replacing any hardware in your system under warranty.
People just don’t get it, they seriously are not able to comprehend such a simple thing. Can you bring your BMW into an Acura dealership and get it repaired under warranty? Do you buy a Sony computer and call HP for support? Do you call Apple up to have them help you fix Windows? I’m sure Apple would at least gladly walk you through formatting the hard drive. People, please get a grip on reality, go out and educate yourself if need be. Read your computer warranties, for the love of God. Whatever you think you’re entitled to you’re most likely not so forget about it. There is no single computer manufacturer out there that will give you a blanket warranty that covers these obscene things you need support with.
When it comes to computers consumers confuse the hell out of hardware versus software. Well I bought the computer from you so you should help me. Oh, I get it now… So if you buy a car and don’t know how to drive stick are you going to call your car salesman on the weekend? Do you really think they’re going to come over and teach you? Forget it. If you buy white sheets and wash them with the colours and they come out orange are you going to call your washing machine company to complain? I really hope you’re not. I’m sure there are people who have which is plain scary.
That’s my rant for the day, and I mean it!
