Terry Fox and Palladium

I saw the weirdest thing today while driving through the intersection of Terry Fox and Pallidium around 5:40 PM. There was some crazy weather that rolled in as per usual mid afternoon. Thunder and crazy lightning along with some flash flooding ensued. The power went out in various places in Kanata and some of the intersection lights went to flashing reds or were out. At this particular intersection however all of the lights were stuck on. Each light system for each lane (there are 16 lanes) had all of their lights stuck on. It was the oddest thing to see on approach with all of the lights red, amber, green all at the same time. Thankfully there was a police officer taking control and directing traffic. People are bad enough when it comes to reverting to the rules of an all way stop at an intersection with lights out or flashing red. You throw on all the lights at the same time and it’s like a scene out of an action movie.
