Fendrihan – Weishi Razor

Category: Reviews | | Written by Jono Cono 2 Comments

I picked up my package from Fendrihan today, it had actually arrived 2 days ago but I didn’t have time until today to pick it up.  The razor came in a nice little case with a couple of blades included and a cleaning brush.  I had purchased the Astra blades based on their reviews.  Fendrihan even included a free pen.  I’m very excited to try shaving with it.  Tonight will be the first time ever shaving with a double edge safety razor.  I hope it goes well.

So the first shave went quite well.  I was a bit nervous and thought I might end up with a lot of cuts and nicks.  It was in fact a much smoother shaving experience then using the multi-blade cartridges  I’ve used all my life.  It was a slow shave as I took extra caution.  I think it will take a little while to get used to holding the razor on the right angle and not miss any spots.  The razor came with a free pack of Dorco blades which I wasn’t aware of.  I’ve started with those first and they seem to do a good job so far.

This Weishi razor is a good razor to start with. But for me this razor is not agressive enough to get a BBS shave. It took me 4 passes to get a good shave out of this razor.

When you are new in to DE shaving this razor can be a good choice because it is very forgiving so you can practice without the risk to get nicks and cuts.

This razor is very forgiving. But for me it is to mild. I prefer my Merkur HD(34c)

But this razor is a nice razor to start with and to practice

I agree, after using it for a little while and getting the hang of it I had to switch razors as I found I had to make multiple passes to get a good shave. Great to learn with though…
