NTI WF-2109

NTI WF-2109 wireless 802.11b/g/n PCI adapter allows you to connect to a wireless network and surf the web with your desk-top computer. I picked up the NTI WF-2109 at a ridiculously low price of $12. I figured it was worth a try since I now have a wireless N router. I now have greater reception and experience faster transfer speeds on my home network.

NTI WF-2109 product features are as follows:

1.Comply with IEEE 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n standard for 2.4GHz Wireless LAN.
2.Compliant with PCI 2.2 standard.
3.Capable of up to 128-Bit WEP, TKIP and AES.
4.Support Windows98/ME/2000/XP/Vista/7.
5.Support MIMO technology with 1 transmit and 2 receive.
6.Lower power consumption.
7.Easy to install and configure

As per the manufacturer Windows 7 is supported. The NTI WF-2109 ships with a drivers CD but you’ll find that if you’re running Windows 7 attempting to install the driver via the CD will error out and advise you that the operating system is not supported. Windows 7 does not have a built in plug and play driver for the NTI WF-2109. What you’ll need to do is make sure that you have a hard wired connection or otherwise bridge a wireless connection from a laptop so that Windows can download and install the driver. The NTI WF-2109 actually shows up in the Device Manager as a Realtek RTL8190 802.11n Wireless LAN (Mini-) PCI NIC.

Any chance you could post where you found the Windows 7 driver?

I’m looking for the driver too…Nowhere to be found. The NTI website is the worst site I’ve ever been to. Not even a driver or support section…I’m about to return this brick to PC Cyber where I bought it from.

    What a waste of time.

…I had breakthrough with this thing. Hopefully it will benefit the few of you who bought this hardware.

If trying to install to Windows 7, you’ll receive an error when you try (as I did) to use the cd to install the next closest thing: the Vista driver. The Vista driver WILL work, but you have to bypass the installation cd.

Open Device Manager in Windows and find the WF-2109 (will probably have a yellow exclamation point beside it). Right click and select ‘update driver’. Then go to ‘browse my computer for the driver’. Point it to the CD, specifically the subfolder with the Vista driver (in my case Vista x64). The driver will install.

My device worked right away when I used this method.
