I advised the customer of this and that I could format it and create a partition which would assign a drive letter and make it accessible.  The customer agreed and then after showing to them that it was available they freaked out because none of their data was there.  The customer claimed that they had the hard drive full of media.  I advised them that we could perform data recovery on the hard drive and attempt to get back whatever we could.  The customer agreed and the price was $100.

Data recovery takes hours and hours for it to be successful and I was only able to find one previous partition with data intact, all the others were garbled and not recoverable.  I recovered the good partition but was still unable to get any data from it and had to go a step further using file recovery on the recovered partition.  I was able to finally secure quite a few Gigs of pictures which I saved to a different hard drive.

Once that was complete I called the customer to notify them but their mobile phone was off and I couldn’t leave a message.  Today the customer came in to pick up their system and started complaining that I never called them.  So I explained that I had and they claimed that their mobile was always on and they have 3 batteries for it etc.  That was a stupid admission on the customer’s part because by stating that they have multiple batteries that they use for their phone it proves that the phone would be off while they switch batteries but that’s beside the point.  So I had to repeat myself to which the customer replied by asking me if I wanted to try now.  I asked him, “Why would I want to try calling your mobile right now, you’re standing right in front of me, what’s the point?  Douche bag had no reply to that one.

So I booted up the system and showed him the recovered data and he started whining that the data he wanted wasn’t recovered etc.  So I explained why that was which went way over his head and he continued bitching and that he didn’t want to pay.  So I told him that if you don’t want to pay then I’ll just delete the data I recovered.  He argued some more but was firm on not paying.

I’m not sure why he even bothered coming in and wasting my time.  It seemed obvious that he had no intention of paying at all in the first place.  So after wasting hours and hours of time and then being a douche bag I hard deleted all his recovered data and wiped it.  People who wanna be douche bags will get treated like douche bags.

Today that customer came back with their RAM (which was fine) and a piece of paper with their lsass.exe error written on it.  They accused me of selling them RAM with a virus on it…LOL.  Even better is they conferred with some of their friends that are computer savvy and this is how they know they have a virus.  Okay, granted they probably do have a virus on their machine which has nothing to do at all with the memory they bought.  So I tell the customer it’s absolutely impossible that there was a virus on the RAM.  At this point the customer tells me I’m full of shit (ROFL) and demands their money back and to speak with the store manager.

Just for the record RAM is volatile memory meaning that as soon as the computer is turned off anything in memory is gone.  Without any power NOTHING can be stored in RAM.  It is physically impossible to sell someone a stick of RAM with a virus in it.  Obviously imbeciles are capable of convincing themselves of anything.

Needless to say my Manager explained to the customer the exact same thing.  The customer remained relentless in their vast ignorance and continued to state that I was full of shit.  What an F’n retard, people that stupid shouldn’t be allowed to use computers.  We just gave the guy a full refund with him saying we’d never see his face again (uh, awesome!).

The man was trying to keep her from walking away and eventually grabbed onto her arm and didn’t let go. She didn’t like that too much and started wailing on his arm, kicking, screaming etc. Finally a security guard (female) showed up first, had the young girl roll over on her stomach and cuffed her. Then two other security guards (male) ran up obviously looking to get in on the action. I’m sure they were disappointed when they saw it was just a young girl and she had already been cuffed.

At any rate the young girl wasn’t very smart and the owner of the store she tried to jack from didn’t appreciate it too much. Well, there’ll be a juvvy record and some community service coming up for that young lady. Hope she gets her $hit straightened out.

Bayshore mall always strikes me as being so ghetto, mostly because of the neighborhood it’s situated in. I remember a few years ago when some lady tried committing suicide by jumping off the 3rd floor. She didn’t jump far enough out into the middle and landed on the second floor breaking her leg. That is pretty insane, someone has got to be in an awful bad place to try and commit suicide, especially in a mall.

I find these social networking sites like Facebook a unnecessary life hack. It does nothing for me that I need or require. It is not my preferred method of communication with people. I would rather physically talk with someone or see them ironically, face to face in the real world. Email is great for quick communication and I would much rather use email any day over Facebook.

So many people upload so much personal information online it really isn’t funny. Their whole life is there for display. Honestly, what is lacking so much in your “real” life that you feel compelled to do such a thing? There is no way I’d be displaying any real personal information on Facebook. I don’t even use my real name on Facebook. I’ve also heard issues about people trying to close their Facebook accounts. Facebook will keep all your information there for a certain time period in case you change your mind. You have to go back into the account, delete everything manually, uninstall all the applications and then close your account again. Even after you do that there is still a copy of everything you ever put on Facebook on their servers. You can email or contact Facebook to try and have them delete it but you’ll never know for sure.

Having said all that I will accede to certain usages of Facebook that would justify it’s existence. One benefit of such social networking sites is for campaigning or possibly raising awareness of certain issues, fighting “the machine”, the gov’t or corporations. Outside of that my Facebook account collects digital dust and I couldn’t care less about it.

When I moved to where I live now I had met my neighbours face to face. There had been some minor talk of going out for dinner and whatnot. Time passed and we had never settled on anything. Next thing I know my neighbours had tracked both my finance and myself on Facebook and just dropped the fact that we’d be going out Friday night and they had a babysitter lined up. Well, needless to say I promptly cancelled. I don’t know about other people but when my neighbours that live directly beside me can’t come over and knock on the door to make plans or talk but rather track me down on Facebook that’s frick’n CREEPY!!!!!!! I cannot stress that enough.

It takes me about twenty minutes to half an hour to shovel my driveway. Theirs would take less time and I’m sorry but if you don’t have fifteen or twenty minutes to shovel your driveway in a day you need to restructure your life. Anyways, this isn’t about them shovelling their driveway or not, about that I could care less. This is about them NOT shovelling their driveway, being lazy and then using my driveway (which I shovelled) to get into theirs.

One day I watched while they casually pulled into my driveway so they could parallel park their car into their driveway without shovelling what the plow had dumped when it went by. It’s nice to see people take advantage. It’s just a matter of principle, if you would like to use my driveway to access your own property due to your own laziness please have the respect to ask first.

One thing I haven’t tried yet is following someone and I’m not sure how to reply to others. Perhaps you need to be following someone first or them you to get going with replies. At any rate, enjoying the Twitteredness of Twitter which I suppose would really be Tweeting? ;-)

I spent my time there sorting food that had come in through donations and food drives.  It’s all sorted by type and boxed up to go out to the food cupboards.  It was nice to be able to help out and equally nice that this service is available to those in need.  I just hope people don’t abuse it even though I’m sure some people do.
